I’m still working on Mom to get us some proper headlights.
In the mean time, the kids wanted some color matching (to their bikes), lights.
Mom came through with some leds from Target. So Sunday afternoon I set them up on each child’s bike respectfully…… and then we waited for darkness to fall. 5:30 came along and we all got dressed and made our way to Bryan Lake, of course!! Lol
Besides them thinking the lights were the coolest thing ever, they both got reacquainted with real northern Minnesota cold. 0° at that time, and -18 with the wind. They last 30-45 minutes and gained both their mothers and my respect!! 😉
Long live kid’s riding FatBikes!!!
On a side note……..
Our young FatBike girl getting some love from “The Fat Bike Gurlz” on Facebook and Instagram.
Never to young to learn that FatBiking isn’t all about pedaling!!!! Mom and Dad are proud of you Jenna!!!!
You too Zack!!! It’s just that you’re a boy….. sorry buddy, we don’t count as much!! 😉
We hooked up with recently new fatbike owner Mr. Holgate and showed him around our riding area. Bryan Lake and the surrounding creeks.
A good hour or so pedal.
There’s always a little pushing when you’re only so big!! 😉
Then, there’s always a hill to bomb down also!!
Craig getting the hang of his new Pugsley.
The kids got some new gear from Santa 😉 for xmas.
Pogies from Dave of Must Stache Bike Bags fame. Check out Dave’s page on Facebook….. good guy, quality hand made product’s at a reasonable price.
Frame bags will arrive shortly also. Being the triangle of an XS 9:zero:7 isn’t all that big…. the frame bags will at least be able to hold hats and extra gloves and any other small items a child would feel they’d need for a ride.
They also got a new set of baselayer tops and bottoms, and some new snow pants.
Zack got a new helmet, and by chance it’s the same as Dad’s. Lol
So, we took a late afternoon pedal to Bryan Lake…. a block or so away from our house.
They have now got the itch to really hit the snowy trails and lakes. Yes, we do have some snow, sorry metro people!! 😉
My ride home from work…… enough said!!!!
The deer love the fat tracks!
With temps forcasted from anywhere between 28°-40° for the next 3 to 4 days………. things will be back and frozen come Tuesday or so.
What a stark difference from this time last year; when we had 3 plus feet of snow on the ground and minus temps for days on end.
It’s just a matter of time before that awesome weather is here again!!
Conditions could not be more perfect right now!!!!!
My long way home from work has become just as fast as my normal way!
With a little help from a friend!! 😉
He even broke my ice for me!!!!
Friday is an off day from work…… I’m thinking….. this usually gets me in trouble…… after I drop the kiddos at school, I should go bomb the Pie Burner route. It should be a super fatbike highway through the woods!!
